SAA@CUA Annual Report 2014

The SAA Student Chapter at The Catholic University of America (SAA@CUA) is please to share our 2014 Annual Report. The chapter was quite active in our first year. Here is a summary of our activities:

  • The SAA@CUA student chapter was formed in the Spring 2014 semester and officially approved by the SAA Council in Summer 2014.
  • he first meeting held on March 20, 2014. It consisted of elections, discussion/approval of the organization constitution, and a workshop on becoming a Certified Archivist, presented by Dr. Jane Zhang.
  • A blog/website was created for SAA@CUA: https://saaatcua.wordpress.com/ 
  • August 2014 – Alyse Minter (President) and Kirsten Mentzer (Secretary) attended the SAA Student Chapter Leaders
  • Roundtable at SAA 2014 as representatives of SAA@CUA
  • August 14, 2014 – The SAA@CUA student chapter co-hosted the Catholic University of America’s Alumni
  • Recepiont/Mixer at the 2014 SAA Meeting.
  • October 2014 – Lindsay Bright (Vice President) appointed liaison between MARAC, regional SAA affiliate, and SAA@CUA organization
  • November 19, 2014 – National Museum of American History (NMAH) Archives Center tour with John Fleckner, who gave a talk on the history of Smithsonian Archives/Member meeting
  • November 2014 – New officers were elected at semester member meeting
